Twenty years after Daniel Craig's debut as 007, Anthony Sinclair and Academy Costumes have faithfully recreated the iconic Madagascar shirt and trousers from Casino Royale (2006).

The Madagascar chase remains one of the defining sequences of the James Bond series. Free from gadgets and reliant solely on instinct, determination and physicality.
Bond relentlessly pursues bomb-maker Mollaka (Sébastien Foucan) through a chaotic construction site in a sequence that introduced mainstream audiences to the emerging discipline of parkour.
The pursuit culminates at the Nambutu Embassy, where Bond corners and kills his target.

Although set in Madagascar, the sequence was filmed between the Bahamas - where Coral Harbour on New Providence Island doubled for the shanty town - and Prague, where the embassy exteriors and interiors were created.
It was also the very first scene Daniel Craig filmed as James Bond.
The Madagascar shirt and trousers accompanied Daniel Craig from the very beginning - they were worn in the first sequence he ever filmed as James Bond.

Designed by Academy Award-winning costume designer Lindy Hemming, the original costume was made by Academy Costumes.
Twenty years later, Academy has returned to the original patterns and techniques to reproduce the outfit in collaboration with Anthony Sinclair, creating the most faithful recreation ever offered to the public.
The shirt is cut from the original Liberty printed cotton fabric specially produced for the film.
It features a soft spear-point collar, a square hem with side vents, and short sleeves finished with adjustable button tabs, allowing the opening to be worn closer to the arm or more relaxed.
Faithfully recreated from the original Academy Costumes patterns, every detail of the Madagascar Shirt reflects the garment worn by Daniel Craig in Casino Royale (2006).

The accompanying trousers are cut from Irish linen woven by John England who supplied the cloth for the original costume.
They feature a generous straight leg, an adjustable drawstring waist, slanted side pockets, and two rear patch pockets that became a defining feature of the design.
The relaxed silhouette and generous straight leg of the Madagascar Trousers proved perfectly suited to one of the most physically demanding sequences in Bond history.

Together, the shirt and trousers faithfully recreate the outfit worn by Daniel Craig in the very first scene he filmed as James Bond - an iconic costume that marked the beginning of a new era for 007.
